Mekorama is a puzzle game built from tiny floating dioramas. Each level is a small 3D block world, and somewhere in it stands a little robot named B who needs to reach the exit. You don't control him like a platformer hero. You tap where he should walk, then change the world around him so there is a path to get there.
The pace is slow and thoughtful. There is no timer and no enemy chasing you, just a model you can turn around in your hands and a gap between where the robot is and where he needs to be. If you came to Drive Mad for the physics-and-problem-solving side of it, rather than the speed, this is the quiet cousin of that idea: the vehicle is gone, but the puzzle of making a machine do what you want is still there.
It was made by Martin Magni and started life as a mobile game. The version here runs in the browser with nothing to install, which suits it well, because levels are short and easy to drop into for a few minutes.
How to play
The game is mostly mouse driven. Click a spot on the level and the robot walks toward it if there is a route. Drag on empty space to rotate the diorama so you can see the level from other sides, because what looks like a dead end from one angle is often a bridge from another. Pieces you can interact with, such as sliding blocks, levers and rotating sections, are moved by clicking or dragging them, and the robot can only cross once they line up.
A typical level goes like this: look around the whole model first, find the exit, then work backward from it. Ask what stops the robot reaching it and which movable part could fix that. Make the change, send the robot over, and watch what happens. If you get stuck in a bad position you can restart the level freely, so experiments cost nothing.
Tips
- Rotate the view before you touch anything. Many levels hide a ledge or a switch on the back side.
- Work backward from the exit instead of forward from the robot. It cuts the number of things you need to try.
- Move one piece at a time and see what it changes. Moving several at once makes it hard to learn which one mattered.
- If a level feels impossible, leave it and come back. A fresh look at the model often shows the obvious step you missed.
Similar games on Drive Mad
Most of the other games here are about driving. Eggy Car is a gentler balancing challenge where you keep a fragile load from falling off, and Car Machines leans toward building and contraptions, so it is probably the closest in spirit. Hill Climb Racing Lite is a better pick when you want to steer a vehicle over rough ground instead of thinking through a fixed layout.
Mekorama suits short, relaxed sessions and works fine with a mouse or a touchscreen. It is a good break when you want something calmer than a stunt run.
Questions about Mekorama
Is Mekorama unblocked at school?
Mekorama runs in an ordinary browser tab from drivemad.click, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.
How do I play Mekorama?
Click a spot to send the robot walking there, drag empty space to rotate the level, and click or drag movable pieces to build a path to the exit.
Is there a timer?
No. Levels are about working out the route, not racing, and you can restart a level as often as you like.
Who made Mekorama?
Mekorama was created by Martin Magni and began as a mobile game.
Does Mekorama work on a phone or Chromebook?
It runs in a modern browser and is controlled mostly by pointing, so a mouse, trackpad or touchscreen should all work.
